In 2009 the Ministry of Transportation in France put into force a regulation requiring all buses transporting school children to be installed with alcohol interlocks. Approximately 60,000 buses would need to be installed within 5 years. As the largest suppliers of busses to the school transport market, IVECO bus released a RFQ to all manufacturers of alcohol interlocks. ACS was selected as the supplier and has been providing IVECO with several different solutions since the initial implementation.
In 2013, ACS released its newest generation of alcohol interlocks, the ALCOLCOK™ L series, with IVECO being the first customer. ACS continues to supply IVECO with several solutions including a model that transmits the alcohol test results wirelessly using dedicated Wi-Fi, allowing fleet managers to receive essential data in a quick, inexpensive and efficient manner.
